Outward hound dog toys5/9/2023 Cleans easily with warm water and mild soap. Place on the ground and watch your dog use his noggin as they paw and nudge the pegs over to uncover the hidden rewards! This puzzle requires one-step actions to get to the hidden treats, which is perfect for pups who are starting out! Made from food safe composite materials that are BPA, PVC, and phthalate-free. If you are happy to supervise/be involved in their play, then I'd highly recommend this toy.The Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound Dog Smart Composite interactive dog puzzle is a fun way to get your dog excited about problem solving games! This mind-stimulating level 1 dog toy features nine treat hiding compartments that can be filled with your pup’s favorite treats and covered with nine pegs that release the tasty scent of treats through the top hole. I don't doubt that, left to her own devices, this toy would be shredded extremely quickly if your dog is so inclined, and if you don't have the time or desire to engage in managing their play then you might be disappointed with how long this item lasts. She has discovered the squeaks which fuels her play but she is also learning to 'give' and 'drop' (with treat rewards for safe delivery of squirrels) she is also learning to bring the tree back for re-filling. So far we have focused on simply finding the squirrels with no need to load the tree trunk with treats. We have been very controlled in introducing and playing this with her (we started with just 3 squirrels but she's worked her way up to 6) and she doesn't play with it on her own just in case, but oh how she loves it. I ordered the ginormous size to be on the safe side it comes with 6 squirrels so enough for spares if some didn't make it to see another day (she gets through toys for strong chewers in a matter of minutes). Our 3 year old Labradoodle (more poodle than Lab) is a "power chewer" - nothing escapes total destruction (unless she totally ignores it) so I was a little worried about buying this for her.
